About Me

I am currently a PhD student in Sociology & Social Policy at Harvard University. I write little whimsical illustrated books, like The Man Who Accidentally Wore His Cravat to a Gymnasium; more about these on the books page. Sometimes I record a Manatee Facts Podcast. Under Prof. Stephen Bright, I designed and produced this online course, “Capital Punishment: Race, Poverty, & Disadvantage.” I have written before for Salon and The New Republic, and sometimes I put things up at The Huffington Post.

My interests are in criminal law, political theory, socialist history, architecture, prisons, and rhythm and blues music. You can befriend me on Facebook and Twitter or email me at nathan.james.robinson@gmail.com.
